Inspired by the music that moves us, the Dance Theatre of Greenville Performance Company proudly presents a one-night only, dynamic production featuring new contemporary, tap, ballet, and West African works performed by dancers aged 11-18. A Moving Orchestra also welcomes guest artists Libation African Drum & Dance to the stage as the performers dance with live musicians! Run time is 1 hour including a brief intermission and is suitable for all ages.

Meet the choreographers below!

Cindy Nunweiler is the Director/Owner of Dance Theatre of Greenville and Artist Director of the Performance Company. She brings her 30+ years of teaching and choreographic experience to the studio along with her tenacity for dance education. She strives to create positive learning environments where children and young adults can thrive and yet still be challenged to take the next step. Her work has been featured in Artisphere, at Furman University for their spring showcase, and most recently at the Mauldin Cultural Center with the Mauldin City Singers. As one of the first BA in Dance graduates of DeSales University, Cindy was a founding member of the Young Choreographer’s Series and the DeSales Le Tour de Dance touring company both of which still exists at the university today. She is most proud of her ability to pave new ways for dancers to express themselves not only in her hometown of Allentown, PA but now in Greenville, SC.

Katie Poteet attended the Greenville County Fine Arts Center where she received training under Andrew Kuharsky and Jan Woodward. Upon graduation, she was named Outstanding Dance Senior of the Year. A graduate from Columbia College, Katie received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Dance. While at Columbia College, she served as Producer and Events Coordinator for the Columbia College Dance Company. In college Katie had the privilege of attending and performing at the American college dance association and the spoleto festival. She also trained and worked closely with the Power Company, a professional contemporary dance company in residence at Columbia College. Katie was also chosen to perform in Dan Wagoner’s choreographic work, Plod, directed by Lisa Wheeler. She has been with Dance Theatre of Greenville and DTG Performing Company for over 10 years. She enjoys bringing her love for dance to the students of DTG and pushing each dancer beyond their potential.

Born and raised in Greenville, SC, Katie Faulkenberry grew up dancing under the direction of Cindy Nunweiler. Her love for ballet led her to the Governor's School for Arts and Humanities to study techniques in Vaganova, Ceecchetti, and the Royal Academy of Dance. Katie has performed in International Ballet Academy's Giselle both in Greenville, SC and Philadelphia, PA along with her two-year tenure as a performer for the Miss South Carolina Organization. She joined Dance Theatre of Greenville in 2014 as a teacher and choreographer to further dance education in the upstate and give young performers a safe space to learn and grow as dancers.

Angela Gibson was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, and is the founder and artistic director of Libation African Drum and Dance Ensemble. She has taught the
history of all dances, choreography, and dialects of songs known along with
the musicality of each rhythm for drummers and dancers of company
members and community classes. She has constructed costumes and
accessories for all company members. Talented in dance and technology,
she has created a company website and all social media platforms. Mrs.
Gibson currently teaches at Ballet Spartanburg’s Center for Dance
Education at Chapman Cultural Center where she teaches for community
members about traditional West African dance and drums. She makes the
costumes for the community members for our annual recital. Mrs. Gibson
served as Artistic Director for Zaki West African Drum and Dance
Ensemble in Greenville, SC, October 2018 to December 2022. She was the
Founder of Oluwaseyi Drum and Dance Ensemble in Fountain, Colorado,
May 2005 to March 2017. She has performed with world-renowned dancer
Djeneba Sako of Mali West Africa throughout Colorado.

From the age of 2, Olivia Gould was involved in dance. Continuing the beginnings of dance, she started dancing competitively and realized her passion for the art form. Through her childhood, she studied all dance styles including ballet, jazz, tap, modern, acro/tumbling, hip hop, and pointe. As a result of her 16 years of training, she decided to attend Anderson University’s South Carolina School of the Arts for the next 4 years. She then earned her bachelor’s degree in Dance while minoring in Theatre. Here she fell in love with the art of dance education which sparked a fire to teach! Beginning in fall of 2020, she entered the workforce at Dance Theatre of Greenville and has loved every minute of it!

Samantha Italiano - goes by Sam- was born and raised in Colorado, growing up in a studio that emphasized artistic expression, exploration, and the opportunity to perform in a variety of settings. Studying under Danielle Heller and Brenna Kuhn, along with many other greats, Sam’s passion for tap dance evolved and she explored the artform with the utmost enthusiasm, alongside ballet, ballroom, jazz, and modern. While attending Elon University in North Carolina, Sam studied with Gene Medler, the Founder and Artistic Director of the North Carolina Youth Tap Ensemble, working alongside Medler to co-direct, choreograph and perform in the university’s annual tap dance showcase. Sam loves to share her passion while on stage, performing as a guest artist with Untapped in Little Rock and Kaleena Miller Dance in Minneapolis. Sam has taught in a variety of settings including: recreation center dance programs; dance studios; public & private school programs; non-profit programming; after-school programs; one-time workshops; and most recently choreographing for musicals. No matter the setting, she emphasizes dance history, rhythmic intricacies, and performance skills hoping to ignite a fire in her students as Sam’s teachers have done for her.

Alexandria Nunweiler is a movement artist rooted in somatic practices that utilize improvisation and yogic philosophy to play with large life questions. Through her independent choreographic project, NunweilerTanz, she explores formative beliefs, guilty pleasures, and the fine line between darkness and humor by outfitting contemporary dance with comedic theater and performance art structures. Recently Alexandria was chosen as a Dancemaker resident at Boston Center for the Arts (2025/26), served as a dramaturg in Company One’s CoLab (2024/25), and received the Next Steps for Boston Dance grant. She is currently on staff at Boch Center, développé evolving dance, Premiere Dance Center, and serves as an Adjunct Professor at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Alexandria earned her BA in Dance from Winthrop University (Rock Hill, SC) and her MSc in International Business from Hult International Business School (Boston, MA & Shanghai, China). Kate Roemmich is a 17-year-old dancer and a senior at Mauldin High School who has been a member of Dance Theatre of Greenville's Performance Company since 2019. With DTG's Performance Company, Kate has performed in shows including Mind's Eye, Continuum, Flora, and Kaleidoscope in addition to performing in Equinox, Artisphere, and at Disney Springs. Kate is also a member of the Mauldin High School Mavettes Dance Team through which she performs at school events and danced in the 2024 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Through these programs, Kate has worked with choreographers from across the country.

Emma Sox has studied ballet with the Greenville Ballet School, International Ballet Academy, and was a student at the Fine Arts Center. In 2017, she attended the American Dance Festival's three week summer intensive at Duke University. Emma has performed in multiple ballet productions including several roles in The Nutcracker and Coppelia with the Greenville Ballet. She was also a cast member with The Logos Theatre in their most recent productions of "The Horse and His Boy", "A Peep Behind the Scenes”, and “The Scarlet Pimpernel.”
