About the student choreography program...
Through a guided application process, young choreographers ages 15+ can submit materials to be considered for the program. Student choreographers hold rehearsals at DTG, are mentored by DTG faculty and Equinox guest artists, have the opportunity to present their piece on the Equinox stage, and receive structured feedback on their works. Student choreographers can expect to learn more about choreographic devices to create effective dance, how to lead a rehearsal of their peers, and how to write about their process, artistic vision, and themselves as artists. The choreographers typically have 8 weeks to bring their visions to life on the Equinox stage.
About the student choreography showcase...
Equinox student choreographers present their works in a one night only show in the blackbox at Greenville Technical Charter High School. They will work with a lighting and sound designer to get their piece stage ready as well as participate in a Q+A session with the audience after the show.
Please note applications are closed for the student choreography program at this time. They will reopen in May 2026.
